Designed for activities with loose materials. These can include sand, grains, semolina, and even pasta! The purpose of the activity is to develop tactile sensations. There are many ways to play, for example: Place a handful of 3–4 different types of grains in a bowl and gently guide the child’s hands over them while naming each type. Where are the hands hiding?” An adult places their hand into a bowl of semolina and asks the child to find it. Together, they uncover the fingers and palm.
A small figurine, preferably one of the child’s favorite toys, is partially hidden in the grains. Only a small part should remain visible. The adult invites the child to find the hidden toy.
