POLYGLYCOLIDE
描述
Surgical Suture — Sterile, Synthetic, Absorbable, Braided, Dyed
The surgical suture is a sterile, synthetic, absorbable, braided, dyed suture made from 100% polyglycolide. The coating consists of polycaprolactone and calcium stearate. The suture is dyed violet to improve visibility in the wound.
The suture retains more than 65% of its initial tensile strength after 2 weeks and more than 40% after 3 weeks. It is completely absorbed within 60–90 days, breaking down into water and carbon dioxide.
Polyglycolide sutures are used for soft tissue approximation and/or ligation in all areas of surgery, gynecology, and gastroenterology. The coating minimizes tissue trauma and facilitates smooth and secure knot tying.
The products are supplied in sterile packaging. The needles are manufactured from corrosion-resistant stainless steel.
