Ferrosilicon
Description
Ferrosilicon is an iron-silicon alloy used in metallurgy as a deoxidizing and alloying additive in the production of steel and alloys. The material is applied to improve steel strength, hardness, elasticity, corrosion resistance, and heat-resistant as well as electrical properties.
Ferrosilicon is widely used in the production of spring, heat-resistant, corrosion-resistant, and electrical steels, as well as in thermite mixtures and oxide reduction processes for ferroalloy manufacturing. Silicon content in the alloy increases metal strength, hardenability, and resistance to oxidation and thermal loads.
The products are manufactured in FS45, FS50, FS65, FS70, and FS75 grades in accordance with GOST standards. Ferrosilicon is supplied in batches and packed in polypropylene big bags with polyethylene liners weighing up to 1000 kg.
