Description

Mineral wool mats are sheets of mineral wool, either faced on one or both sides with various materials and stitched, or stitched without any facing material. These mats are used for the thermal insulation of industrial equipment and pipelines at surface temperatures ranging from -180°C to +700°C, depending on the type of facing material (e.g., metal mesh, glass veil, glass fabric, etc.). Roving glass yarn or other materials are used for stitching. While mineral wool stitched mats are the most cost-effective type of insulation, they have one drawback: they lack structural load-bearing capacity and tend to settle over time. However, they are rot-proof and, unlike plant-based fiber materials, they offer superior fire resistance and durability.
